Carnmoney Colts U11s 1 Northend United U11s 4
Wednesday 5th May 2010

Northend travelled to Mallusk on Wednesday for their last match of a fine season for the wee team.
Watched in front of a large crowd and in blustery conditions, and with some of the players swapping positions, the lads started the game slowly; the midfield saw a lot of the ball with Eamon Elliott and Conor Graham winning a lot of possession.
Northend did take the lead just before the break when Jamie Crawford threaded a pass through to David Kilgore who nut megged the Colts keeper for a goal, leaving the half time score 1-0 to Northend.
Rhys O'Mullan, Zack Herbison and Philip Maybin replaced Andrew Milligan, David Kilgore and Eamon Elliott.
United started the second half quicker and it wasn't long before they doubled their lead, Zack Herbison receiving the ball just inside the Colts box but instead of shooting he passed for Crawford to control and score his first goal of the season, the biggest cheer of the night.
Northend were well on top now and Rhys O'Mullan got in on the act when he beat his man and gave the keeper no chance with an excellent finish.
Rhys O'Mullan supplied the cross for Herbison to score Northend's final goal of the season. Carnmoney did get a consolation goal near the end of the match.

The coaches would like to thank all the players for an enjoyable season and hopefully build on what has been achieved this season. The players and coaches would also like to thank all the supporters for coming along and helping out.....

Monday 19th April 2010

Northend United Youth U11s took on Ballyclare Colts at Mallusk in a league match knowing a win would virtually guarantee the young team an excellent third
position in the league in their first year, for some, in competitive football.
United started fast and pushed the Colts back with some great attacking football, but somehow the ball just wouldn't go into the net.
Philip Maybin did however start the scoring when he picked up the ball twenty-five yards out, took a couple of touches before unleashing an unstoppable shot giving
the Colts keeper no chance. The score stayed the same until half time At 1-0 to Northend.

The second half started as the first and Northend didn't take long to double their lead when Rhys O'Mullan beat two defenders before slotting the ball past the keeper.

Bertie Peacocks U11s 2 Northend United U11s 0
Saturday 17th April 2010

Northend United U11s played Bertie Peacocks in the semi-final of the BEAYIL Cup at Smithfield. Having recently beaten the Peacocks side in Shield action, Northend were confident of progressing to the Cup final.
The game started with both sides showing signs of nerves. Northend had a few half chances to score through chances created by Oliver Boyle, who was having a good game in the Northend midfield, but failed to score.
Peacocks took the game to Northend with some excellent attacking play but found Anthony O'Neill in the Northend nets having an inspired game.
As play became bogged down in midfield, neither side created any chances towards the end of the first half, leaving the half time score 0-0.

Northend came out after half time looking for the all important goal but found Peacocks equally charged up for the match. In a sluggish second half  performance, Northend never really got going and found themselves a goal down midway through the half after some good attacking play from Peacocks.
Northend attacked Peacocks after this goal but found their defence in top form. With Conor Graham and Rhys O'Mullan going close for Northend it looked like the equaliser was coming but another counter attack from Peacocks led to their second goal to make the score 2-0 and with it any chance Northend had of progressing to the Cup Final.

Man of the Match: Oliver Boyle

Panel: Anthony O'Neill, Robbie Dennison, Ryan McKenna, Jamie Crawford, Oliver Boyle, Philip Maybin, Conor Graham, Conor McHugh, David Kilgore, Zack Herbison(c),  Ryan Gordon, Sam Bennett, Eamon Elliott, Ben Sempey.
